Speaker 1:

Is there a major life transition benching you? I know you may be asking what's next? What's my purpose? What if? Because I've asked those too.

Speaker 1:

Welcome to the Start your Comeback Podcast. I'm Toni Thrash, a certified life coach, and I want to share the tools and practical steps to help you create a winning game plan to move into your new adventure. Hi, welcome back. You are listening to episode 53. The last few weeks, I've been talking about the sound of you. In the first week, I urged you to begin the practice of listening to you for the first 20 minutes of your day. In week two, we talked about what we need to let go of, whether it is a person, job, relationship or whatever it may be relationship or whatever it may be. Then, last week, I gave you some guidelines on how to map your next move to get off the bench and right back into your game of life. These steps are so important for you to clear your head and make a sound game plan. And now, today, I want to talk to you about it's time to make a move.

Speaker 1:

You see, this final step is the most critical and hardest to implement. You must make a move. Why, you ask. Well, this is the step that requires action and it makes the transition real. You can dream about it, you can plan about it, but until you take that step it's not real. Here's the thing you may have already made the big decision and now you're stuck in the limbo state of not knowing what's next. All the other steps before are building up to the plan to move through this, and now the only obstacle left in your way is fear. Fear is a real thing. Fear automatically kicks in and says I can't do this, I can't walk through this. What if none of this works? I know what it is like to be scared to death and unable to make the move.

Speaker 1:

It was the hardest thing I've ever done. I remember that day that I walked into a counseling session and told my then husband I filed for divorce. I was shaking on the inside so much I couldn't believe those words actually came out of my mouth. The details are for another time, but just trust me when I say it was a long process. I listened to me finally, because I had not listened to myself ever before. I had mapped it out Now. It didn't go as smoothly as what I wanted it to, but I did let go of what I could no longer control. I had been in a state of limbo for so long trying to make a game plan and I mean, I was terrified. But I decided to take that step and make my move. And all the while, fear was whispering in my ears and nipping at my heels every single day. Every single day, I thought I would never make it through.

Speaker 1:

I've learned since then to let fear be the losing opponent. I'm living proof that you can make the move even when you are hesitant about the next step you mapped out. You just have to take a step mapped out. You just have to take a step. One step, heck, even a half of a step is forward. Do not let fear keep you from moving forward. You will make it through.

Speaker 1:

It will not be easy and that first step is the hardest, but the movement in the right direction will bring such a sense of relief. The right direction will bring such a sense of relief. You are simply moving and not staying stagnant. Every single day I took felt like I would pass out from fear. I know, friend, I know and I get it. It doesn't matter if you're in shock, if you're in limbo and you're still trying to wade your way through the mess or you're beginning to start the re-entry process. Every single one of those steps will be laced with new fear.

Speaker 1:

But if you are in any of these stages, I would love to have a chat, because before very long you will be making that next step of your journey. The best part is, you won't be alone. You know, and I know, someone who's in transition. I would love it if you would share this episode with them. Just today, a client was referred who is just beginning her journey of divorce. You need a voice that has walked this path before and knows what's next.

Speaker 1:

Take the step, do it afraid. Don't back down from the plan that you've mapped out to get to the rest of your life and get off of that bench. You can do it. If I can do it, I know you can do it. That's it for this time. I would love to hear from you If you've implemented any of these steps from the Sound of you series, and what has worked and what hasn't worked.

Speaker 1:

Would you be so kind as to reach out and let me know if you've done any of those so I can tweak a surprise that I've been working on now for a minute? I would love to know and have your input, but until next time, take the step. I'll see you next week. Hey, thanks for listening. I don't take it for granted that you're here. You didn't listen by mistake. If you want to reach out, you can DM me on Instagram at Tony Thrash Until next week. Remember, there's still time left on the clock. Let's get you off the bench to start your comeback. I want to give a special shout out to Country Club for the original music. You can find them on Instagram at Country Club. You.
